• Νεολιθικοί... χειρουργοί
Και όμως, υπήρχαν Νεολιθικοί χειρουργοί, που έκαναν πετυχημένους ακρωτηριασμούς, σύμφωνα με νέα ανακάλυψη. Πριν από περίπου 6.900 χρόνια (4.900 π.Χ.), οι Νεολιθικοί αγρότες της Ευρώπης είχαν πολύ πιο εξελιγμένες ιατρικές γνώσεις από ό,τι θεωρείτο μέχρι σήμερα, σε βαθμό που έκαναν...

Με αίτημα την αντιμετώπιση της σχολικής στέγης στην περιοχή, γονείς μαθητές και δάσκαλοι από το Ασβεστοχώρι, κατέλαβαν συμβολικά το Δημαρχείο Χορτιάτη στη Θεσσαλονίκη.
Στη Ρουμανία ξεπέρασαν τους 30 οι νεκροί από το δριμύ ψύχος της τελευταία εβδομάδας. Έως -35 βαθμοί στην Τρανσυλβανία. Ειδικά συνεργεία με νοσοκόμους αναζητούν αστέγους για να τους σώσουν από την παγωνιά. Ανάλογα προβλήματα και -28 βαθμοί στη Βουλγαρία.
Τραγικό θάνατο βρήκε 17χρονος μαθητής της Γ' Λυκείου, ο οποίος έπεσε από τον 3ο όροφο των εκπαιδευτηρίων Μάνεση στην οδό Πράσινου Λόφου 51 στο Νέο Ηράκλειο. Ο μαθητής διακομίστηκε στο νοσοκομείο Αγία Όλγα όπου διαπιστώθηκε ο θάνατός του.
Τουλάχιστον 13 άνθρωποι σκοτώθηκαν σε τροχαίο στο κεντρικό ομόσπονδο Ινδικό κρατίδιο Μάντια Πραντές, σύμφωνα με εγχώριο ειδησεογραφικό πρακτορείο. Τα θύματα ήταν μέλη της οικογένειας ενός χωρικού που επέστρεφαν από Ινδουιστικό βωμό.
Στην Ιταλία, η FIAT ανακοίνωσε αναστολή παραγωγής για δύο εβδομάδες, λόγω μείωσης των παραγγελιών. Η απόφαση θέτει σε τεχνική ανεργία 30.000 υπαλλήλους των έξι εργοστασίων στη χώρα.
Έναντι 400 εκατομ. δολαρίων αγοράστηκε η σουηδική Saab, θυγατρική της αμερικανικής General Motors, από την ολλανδική αυτοκινητοβιομηχανία Spyker Cars, κατασκευάστρια πολυτελών σπορ αυτοκινήτων.
Μικρής έκτασης φωτιά εκδηλώθηκε τα ξημερώματα σε σουπερ μάρκετ Carreffour στην Αργυρούπολη. Άγνωστοι δράστες πέταξαν γκαζάκια και εύφλεκτο υγρό στην είσοδο του καταστήματος με αποτέλεσμα να σημειωθούν μικρές υλικές ζημιές.

24ωρη απεργία για τα ιδιωτικά ιατρεία την Τετάρτη 27/1 αποφάσισε ο ιατρικός σύλλογος Αθηνών & η Ένωση Ελευθεροεπαγγελματιών Ιατρών Αττικής, ως αντίδραση του ιατρικού κόσμου έναντι μερίδας ΜΜΕ που στήνει τηλεοπτικές δίκες ιατρών.

Νεκρή ανασύρθηκε 60χρονη από ΙΧ το οποίο παρασύρθηκε από αμαξοστοιχία σε φυλασσόμενη διάβαση στην Αλεξάνδρεια Ημαθίας. Aπεγκλωβίστηκαν, τραυματισμένοι, ένας 65χρονος, μία 58χρονη και ένας 22χρονος, ο οποίος κατέληξε κατά τη μεταφορά του στο Νοσοκομείο.
Ο αντιπρόεδρος της κυβέρνησης της Βενεζουέλας Ραμόν Καριζάλες, που είναι και υπουργός Αμυνας, παραιτήθηκε τη Δευτέρα από την κυβέρνηση για προσωπικούς λόγους, όπως μετέδωσαν το ραδιόφωνο και οι εφημερίδες.

Σε 7.235 ευρώ ανέρχεται η λεία από τη ληστεία, που διέπραξαν τη Δευτέρα, δύο ένοπλοι σε υποκατάστημα της τράπεζας "ΑΣΠΙΣ" στο Καλοχώρι Θεσσαλονίκης. Για την υπόθεση διενεργείται προανάκριση από την αστυνομία.
Δύο νεκροί είναι ο απολογισμός της σύγκρουσης Ι.Χ με αμαξοστοιχία του ΟΣΕ στην Αλεξάνδρεια Ημαθίας. Νεκροί είναι οι επιβάτες του οχήματος που παραβίασαν το σηματοδότη, ενώ ακόμη δύο άτομα τραυματίστηκαν.

Τουλάχιστον 36 νεκροί και 71 τραυματίσθηκαν είναι ο απολογισμός των τριών εκρήξεων που σημειώθηκαν στα ξενοδοχεία Palestine και Sheraton στη Βαγδάτη.
Συμβουλές σε παιδιά και ενήλικες για τους κινδύνους στο διαδίκτυο και τους τρόπους αποφυγής τους, δίνει η τηλεφωνική γραμμή 80011 80015, που έχει θέσει σε λειτουργία η μονάδα εφηβικής υγείας του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών.
Ο Εθνικός Οργανισμός Φαρμάκων, υπενθυμίζει ότι από τις 8 το πρωί μέχρι τις 9 το βράδυ, λειτουργεί η τηλεφωνική γραμμή 213-204040-1 για την καταγραφή ανεπιθύμητων ενεργειών από τη χρήση των εμβολίων της νέας γρίπης.

Να ξεκινήσει με το δεξί τις υποχρεώσεις του στο "Τop 16" της Ευρωλίγκα θέλει ο Παναθηναϊκός, καθώς αντιμετωπίζει απόψε την Παρτιζάν στο Ολυμπιακό Στάδιο (21.00, Novasports 1). Ο προπονητής των "πρασίνων", Ζέλιμιρ Ομπράντοβιτς, μιλώντας για την συγκεκριμένη αναμέτρηση τόνισε ότι δεν θα είναι εύκολη και πως οι παίκτες του θα πρέπει να είναι συγκεντρωμένοι καθ' όλη τη διάρκεια του ματς.
"Γνωρίζουμε πολύ καλά ως ομάδα την Παρτιζάν, καθώς τυχαίνει να βρίσκουμε ο ένας τον άλλο στο δρόμο του κάθε σεζόν. Αν και έχουν προβεί σε αλλαγές πολλών παικτών φέτος, παραμένουν δυνατοί και επικίνδυνοι, επειδή παλεύουν σε κάθε σύστημα και για κάθε μπάλα. Καταβάλουν σκληρή προσπάθεια στην άμυνα, αλλά και στην επίθεση, επομένως θα πρέπει να διατηρήσουμε τη συγκέντρωσή μας για 40 λεπτά. Στην φάση των "16" δεν υπάρχει εύκολος αγώνας. ~** ΠΑΣΟΚ και ΝΔ: Στηρίζουν επανεκλογή Κ. Παπούλια : 17- Ιανουαρίου - 2010 ,
Υπέρ της επανεκλογής του Κάρολου Παπούλια τάχθηκε ο πρωθυπουργός Γιώργος Παπανδρέου, κατά τη διάρκεια συνάντησης των δύο ανδρών στο Προεδρικό Μέγαρο. "Είναι χαρά και τιμή να έρθουμε σήμερα σε εσάς με μία πρόταση που μας τιμά όλους για την επανεκλογή σας στην Προεδρία της Δημοκρατίας", δήλωσε χαρακτηριστικά ο κ. Παπανδρέου.
Συνεχίζοντας, ανέφερε ότι είναι ευρύτατη η πεποίθηση του ελληνικού λαού ότι τίμησε το αξίωμα και ότι σε στιγμές δύσκολες για τη χώρα, έδωσε στίγμα θεσμικό και πολιτειακό με το οποίο ενίσχυσε το αίσθημα σιγουριάς, ασφάλειας και δημοκρατίας.
"Η χώρα έχει δυσκολίες, βλέπετε και με το αγροτικό. Τα προβλήματα δεν λύνονται με μπλόκα αλλά μέσα από το διάλογο και τη διάθεση όλων για μεγάλες ανατροπές. Ταυτόχρονα δίνουμε μεγάλο και δύσκολο αγώνα διεθνώς για την αποκατάσταση της αξιοπιστίας της χώρας μας, και σε αυτή την πορεία, κύριε Πρόεδρε, η δική σας βοήθεια θα είναι πολύ χρήσιμη".
Δήλωση Γ. Παπανδρέου
"Ο Πρόεδρος της Δημοκρατίας λειτούργησε με τον καλύτερο δυνατό τρόπο και τίμησε με τον πιο αποφασιστικό τρόπο το ανώτατο αξίωμα της Προεδρίας της Δημοκρατίας, πάντα με ευθυκρισία και αίσθημα εθνικού χρέους, σε μια εποχή κατά την οποία δοκιμάστηκαν και αμφισβητήθηκαν οι θεσμοί της χώρας μας και γι' αυτό πιστεύω, ότι είναι αυτονόητη η πρότασή μας για την επανεκλογή του και είμαι σίγουρος ότι αυτή η απόφασή μας έχει την ευρύτατη συναίνεση των πολιτικών κομμάτων και του ελληνικού λαού".
Από την πλευρά του ο Πρόεδρος της Δημοκρατίας είπε ότι η κατοχύρωση και η ανάπτυξη των δημοκρατικών θεσμών αποτελεί πρώτιστο καθήκον.
Επιστολή Σαμαρά
Υπέρ της ανανέωσης της θητείας του Κάρολου Παπούλια στο αξίωμα του προέδρου της Ελληνικής Δημοκρατίας, τάσσεται και η ΝΔ. Αυτό προκύπτει από επιστολή που απέστειλε το πρωί, ο πρόεδρος της ΝΔ Αντώνης Σαμαράς προς τον πρόεδρο της Βουλής Φίλιππο Πετσάλνικο.
Στην επιστολή αναφέρεται ότι η Κοινοβουλευτική Ομάδα της ΝΔ προτείνει την ανανέωση της θητείας στο αξίωμα του Προέδρου της Δημοκρατίας, όπως δήλωσε ο εκπροσώπου Τύπου του κόμματος Πάνος Παναγιωτόπουλος. –



~** Αϊτή: Νέο θαύμα στα ερείπια :
Δώδεκα μέρες μετά τον καταστροφικό σεισμό στην Αϊτή, Αμερικανοί στρατιώτες κατάφεραν να ανασύρουν ζωντανό από τα ερείπια ενός κτηρίου έναν άντρα 31 ετών. Ο άνδρας μεταφέρθηκε στο νοσοκομείο έχοντας ένα κάταγμα στο μηρό και σοβαρή αφυδάτωση. Παγιδεύτηκε στα ερείπια ενός μαγαζιού, όχι στον πρώτο μεγάλο σεισμό αλλά σε έναν μετασεισμό και αρχικά εντοπίστηκε από μία ομάδα Αϊτινών. Αξίζει να σημειωθεί ότι οι επιχειρήσεις των σωστικών συνεργείων διακόπηκαν επίσημα την Κυριακή. Μέχρι στιγμής από τα ερείπια των κτηρίων ανασύρθηκαν ζωντανοί 130 άνθρωποι.-
Έκκληση για 200.000 σκηνές πριν αρχίσει η περίοδος των βροχών
Νωρίτερα, ο Πρόεδρος της Αϊτής, απηύθυνε έκκληση για τη άμεση διάθεση, πριν από τον Μάιο οπότε και αρχίζει η περίοδος των βροχών, 200.000 σκηνών για τους περίπου 1.000.000 άστεγους του Πόρτο Πρενς.
Ο Ρενέ Πρεβάλ, του οποίου επίσης η κατοικία κατέρρευσε μετά το σεισμό θα εγκατασταθεί σύντομα σε μία σκηνή που θα στήσει έξω από το Προεδρικό Μέγαρο.
Νωρίτερα, μιλώντας σε αμερικανικό ραδιόφωνο, η επικεφαλής της αμερικανικής διπλωματίας, τοποθετήθηκε για το ζήτημα της διαγραφής των χρεών της Αϊτής, ύψους 1 δισεκατομμυρίου δολαρίων.
Μετά τη Βενεζουέλα και τον Καναδά που διέγραψαν τα χρέη των Αϊτινών, η Χίλαρι Κλίντον δήλωσε ότι το ζήτημα της διαγραφής των χρεών είναι υπό εξέταση .

Μετά το σεισμό η Παγκόσμια Τράπεζα ανακοίνωσε ότι δίνει στην Αϊτή 5ετή περίοδο χάριτος όσον αφορά την πληρωμή του χρέους ενώ το Κλαμπ του Παρισιού πρότεινε να διαγραφούν χρέη, ύψους 214 εκατ. δολαρίων προς μέλη του.

~** Κακοκαιρία, χιονοπτώσεις και παγετός σαρώνουν τα Βαλκάνια :
Από έντονα καιρικά φαινόμενα εξακολουθούν να πλήττονται οι χώρες των Βαλκανίων, όπου οι χιονοπτώσεις και οι ιδιαίτερα χαμηλές θερμοκρασίες έχουν προκαλέσει πολλά προβλήματα στις υποδομές και τις μετακινήσεις. Συγκεκριμένα, χιονόπτωση και παγετός πλήττει τη Σερβία, όπου το θερμόμετρο, σε πολλές περιοχές της χώρας, έπεσε στους -15 βαθμούς Κελσίου. Η κυκλοφορία στους δρόμους διεξάγεται με δυσκολία και η χρήση αντιολισθητικών αλυσίδων είναι απαραίτητη στις ορεινές περιοχές.
Στο Βελιγράδι, παρατηρούνται προβλήματα σε περιφερειακούς δήμους, όπου εξαιτίας της μορφολογίας του εδάφους, τα συνεργεία αδυνατούν να καθαρίσουν το χιόνι. Οι χιονοπτώσεις αναμένεται να εξασθενήσουν τις βραδινές ώρες, ωστόσο το θερμόμετρο θα παραμείνει κάτω από το μηδέν.

Η μετεωρολογική υπηρεσία της Σερβίας προειδοποίησε ότι ο παγετός θα διαρκέσει μέχρι το τέλος της επόμενης εβδομάδας και συνέστησε στους οδηγούς προσοχή.

Μαυροβούνιο-Κροατία
Παρόμοια είναι η κατάσταση και στη γειτονική Κροατία και το Μαυροβούνιο, όπου χιονοπτώσεις και πολύ χαμηλές θερμοκρασίες συνθέτουν το σκηνικό του καιρού.

Στο νότο του Μαυροβουνίου, στην περιοχή του Τσέτινιε, η κυκλοφορία των οχημάτων διεξάγεται μόνο με αντιολισθητικές αλυσίδες, καθώς το ύψος του χιονιού έφθασε τα 20 εκατοστά και στα βόρεια επικρατεί κατά τόπους παγετός.

Ο επικεφαλής του κέντρου ανάλυσης και πρόγνωσης καιρού, της Υδρομετεωρολογικής Υπηρεσίας του Μαυροβουνίου, δήλωσε ότι έως τις 10 Φεβρουαρίου η χώρα θα βρίσκεται υπό την επιρροή ψυχρών αέριων μαζών, με αποτέλεσμα στο βόρειο τμήμα της χώρας να διατηρηθούν πολύ χαμηλές θερμοκρασίες και να συνεχιστούν οι χιονοπτώσεις.

Στην Κροατία, στη περιοχή Ίμοτσκα Κράινα, στην ενδοχώρα της Δαλματίας, επικρατούν θυελλώδεις άνεμοι και χιονίζει με αποτέλεσμα να προκαλούνται προβλήματα στην κυκλοφορία των οχημάτων. Συνεργεία των δήμων της περιοχής προσπαθούν να κρατήσουν τις βασικές οδικές αρτηρίες ανοιχτές.

Το χιόνι και οι θυελλώδεις άνεμοι προκαλούν προβλήματα στην κυκλοφορία των οχημάτων στις περιοχές Γκόρσκι Κότορ, Σλαβόνια, Λίκα και στο βορειοδυτικό τμήμα της χώρας.

~** Ψάχνουν τη λύση-Εμμένουν στα μπλόκα :
Νέα πρόσκληση για διάλογο απηύθυνε στους αγρότες ο πρωθυπουργός, κατά τη συνάντηση με τον Πρόεδρο της Δημοκρατίας. Τα προβλήματα δεν λύνονται με τα μπλόκα αλλά μέσα από το διάλογο, τόνισε χαρακτηριστικά ο Γιώργος Παπανδρέου και πρόσθεσε ότι η κυβέρνηση έχει τη διάθεση για μεγάλες ανατροπές που χρειάζονται τη βοήθεια όλων. Την ίδια ώρα συνεχείς είναι οι διαβουλεύσεις τόσο στο κυβερνητικό επιτελείο, όσο και στα μέτωπα των αγροτών για την εξεύρεση μιας κοινά αποδεκτής φόρμουλας για τον τερματισμό των κινητοποιήσεων. Μέτρα για τους νέους αγρότες προανήγγειλε η υπουργός Αγροτικής Ανάπτυξης, ενώ σε εξέλιξη βρίσκεται η συνάντηση της, με εκπροσώπους κτηνοτρόφων από όλη την χώρα. Κοινή πλατφόρμα αιτημάτων ετοιμάζουν οι αγρότες από όλη τη χώρα στην προσπάθεια τους να παρουσιάσουν ενιαία στάση απέναντι στην κυβέρνηση, ενώ εμμένουν στην τακτική των μπλόκων ως μέσο πίεσης. Έρευνα ξεκινά η Κομισιόν για το "πακέτο Χατζηγάκη" ύψους 425 εκατομμυρίων ευρώ που έδωσε η χώρα μας στους αγρότες την περίοδο 2008 – 2009.Την ίδια ώρα στην αγορά έχουν ήδη αρχίσει να διαφαίνονται οι πρώτες επιπτώσεις τόσο στις εξαγωγές όσο και στις μεταφορές των εμπορευμάτων απο τις συνεχιζόμενες κινητοποιήσεις.
Την φόρμα που θα οδηγήσει στην άρση του αδιεξόδου ψάχνουν κυβέρνηση και αγρότες που συνεχίζουν να παραμένουν στα μπλόκα την ώρα που σε γενικές συνελεύσεις οι παραγωγοί με στόχο πρώτον να ενοποιηθούν τα αιτήματα αλλά και να αποφασιστεί η πορεία των κινητοποιήσεων.

Σήμερα εκ νέου ο Πρωθυπουργός επανέλαβε την ανοιχτή πρόταση της κυβέρνησης για διάλογο, ενώ σε συνάντησή της με εκπροσώπους νέων αγροτών η υπουργός Αγροτικής Ανάπτυξης ανακοίνωσε ότι η κυβέρνηση προτίθεται να δώσει μέχρι τέλος Μαρτίου το 40% της προκαταβολής σε όσους ενταχτούν στο σχετικό πρόγραμμα της ΕΕ.
Οι αγρότες που θα ενταχθούν στο πρόγραμμα θα προκύψουν από οριοθέτηση και μετά την ενοποίηση των δύο προκηρύξεων του 2009.

Η Υπουργός κατηγόρησε παράλληλα την προηγούμενη πολιτική ηγεσία του υπουργείου καθώς όπως υποστήριξε πέρυσι είχε προκηρύξει δυο σχετικά προγράμματα συνολικού ύψους 287 εκ ευρώ, ενώ ο αρχικός προϋπολογισμός και τα διαθέσιμα κονδύλια ανέρχονταν μόλις σε 100 εκ. ευρώ.
Να σταματήσει τον εμπαιγμό των αγροτών κάλεσε την κυβέρνηση ο πρόεδρος της κοινοβουλευτικής ομάδας του ΣΥΡΙΖΑ Αλέξης Τσίπρας , ο οποίος συναντήθηκε με την Ένωση Νέων Αγροτών. Όπως τόνισε ο κύριος Τσίπρας πρέπει να υλοποιηθούν οι προεκλογικές υποσχέσεις της και να καταλάβει ότι δεν μπορεί να απαξιώνει την Ελλάδα που δημιουργεί και αυτή την ώρα βρίσκεται στους δρόμους του αγώνα.
"Η κυβέρνηση και η κυρία Μπατζελή, λέει, ότι δεν υπάρχει σάλιο για τους αγρότες, την ίδια στιγμή όμως βρίσκουν 1.000.000 ευρώ για να επιδοτηθούν οι επιχειρηματίες μέσω του ΟΑΕΔ για τις ασφαλιστικές εισφορές και τους μισθούς. Είναι μια μεγάλη αντίφαση. Τα αιτήματα των αγροτών είναι δίκαια, κυρίως τα θεσμικά αλλά και τα οικονομικά', τόνισε ο κ. Τσίπρας.

Στις πέντε το απόγευμα οι νέοι αγρότες θα συναντηθούν με τον πρόεδρο της ΝΔ, Αντώνης Σαμαράς.

Παραμένουν στα μπλόκα

Την ίδια ώρα παραμένουν τα μπλόκα στην εθνική οδό Αθηνών-Θεσσαλονίκης στο 90 χλμ της Π.Α.Θ.Ε. στο ρεύμα προς Αθήνα, στο Κάστρο, τη Ριτσώνα, την Αλαμάνα, στο 72ο χλμ Παλιάς Εθνικής Οδού Λαμίας-Λιβαδειάς και στο 146ο χλμ της ΠΑΘΕ στους Λιβανάτες, ρεύμα προς Αθήνα.
Κλειστοί παραμένουν οι κόμβοι Νίκαιας και Μικροθηβών Θεσσαλίας, ενώ αγρότες παραμένουν στον Πλατύκαμπο και στον Τύρναβο, όπου όμως η κυκλοφορία διεξάγεται χωρίς προβλήματα.
Τη συνέχιση των αγροτικών κινητοποιήσεων προανήγγειλε το μεσημέρι, από το μπλόκο της Νίκαιας, ο συνδικαλιστής Βαγγέλης Μπούτας. Συγκεκριμένα, ανέφερε πως το "πακέτο" που, όπως εξήγγειλε η υπουργός Αγροτικής Ανάπτυξης Κατερίνα Μπατζελή, θα δοθεί σταδιακά στους αγρότες δεν είναι τίποτε άλλο παρά λεφτά που ήδη δικαιούνται.

Μάλιστα, δεν απέκλεισε τη «σύμπλευση» των αγροτών της Νίκαιας με άλλα μπλόκα, απέκλεισε, όμως, κατηγορηματικά τη συνεργασία τους με τους παραγωγούς του Πλατυκάμπου και του Τυρνάβου, διότι, όπως υποστήριξε, "η ανταπόκρισή τους στην πρόσκληση που τους απηύθυνε ο πρόεδρος της Νέας Δημοκρατίας Αντώνης Σαμαράς, ‘έριξε τις μάσκες’ και φάνηκε περί ποίων πρόκειται".

Την τελευταία στιγμή αποφεύχθηκε σιδηροδρομικό δυστύχημα στο μεθοριακό σταθμό του Προμαχώνα Σερρών, όταν οι αγρότες, που έχουν αποκλείσει την οδική διέλευση της περιοχής, μετακίνησαν ορισμένα από τα τρακτέρ τους πάνω στις ράγες, χωρίς να έχουν ειδοποιήσει επίσημα το σταθμάρχη για τις προθέσεις τους αλλά ούτε και για την ακριβή ώρα, που θα προχωρούσαν στον αποκλεισμό.

Όπως ανέφερε ο σταθμάρχης του Προμαχώνα Γιώργος Νικολάου στο ΑΠΕ-ΜΠΕ, τη στιγμή του αποκλεισμού, κατευθυνόταν στο σταθμό του Προμαχώνα εμπορική αμαξοστοιχία, από τη Βουλγαρία. Ο συρμός κινούνταν με ταχύτητα και ο κ. Νικολάου κατέφερε την ύστατη στιγμή, αφενός μεν να ειδοποιήσει τους μηχανοδηγούς να κόψουν ταχύτητα αλλά και τους αγρότες να πάρουν προσωρινά τα τρακτέρ τους από τις ράγες.

Οι αγρότες δήλωσαν πάντως την πρόθεσή τους να αποκλείσουν επί δύο 24ωρα τη σιδηροδρομική διέλευση στον Προμαχώνα.

Όπως δήλωσε στο ΑΠΕ-ΜΠΕ ο σταθμάρχης του Προμαχώνα, Γιώργος Νικόλαου, οι παραγωγοί δεν τον έχουν ενημερώσει επίσημα για τις προθέσεις τους. Τόνισε, όμως, πως σε περίπτωση που προχωρήσουν σε αποκλεισμό, ο διευθύνων σύμβουλος του ΟΣΕ θα ζητήσει την άμεση παρέμβαση του εισαγγελέα Σερρών.

Αποκλεισμένη παραμένει, εξάλλου, και η οδική διέλευση από το μεθοριακό σταθμό του Προμαχώνα, ενώ από τις έξι το πρωί οι αγρότες δεν επιτρέπουν ούτε τη διέλευση των ΙΧ επιβατηγών αυτοκινήτων.

Κλειστή παραμένει, επίσης, η Εγνατία οδός Σερρών - Καβάλας, στο κόμπο Κερδυλλίων, για δέκατη τρίτη μέρα. Η διέλευση των οχημάτων γίνεται μέχρι σήμερα από την παλιά Εθνική Οδό, η οποία, όμως, πρόκειται να αποκλειστεί στο ύψος του κόμβο της Αμφίπολης, μετά τη μία το μεσημέρι και μέχρι τις έξι το απόγευμα.
Έρευνα για τις επιδοτήσεις Χατζηγάκη

Και ενώ συμβαίνουν όλα αυτά η Ευρωπαϊκή Επιτροπή ανακοίνωσε ότι αποφάσισε να κινήσει την επίσημη διαδικασία έρευνας σε ό,τι αφορά τις αντισταθμιστικές πληρωμές ύψους 425 εκατ. ευρώ, που καταβλήθηκαν στους Έλληνες αγρότες από τον Οργανισμό Ελληνικών Γεωργικών Ασφαλίσεων (ΕΛ.Γ.Α.) κατά τη διάρκεια των ετών 2008 και 2009.

Η Επιτροπή έχει αμφιβολίες ως προς τη συμβατότητα αυτών των ενισχύσεων με την εσωτερική αγορά, αμφισβητώντας επί της ουσίας αν το μέγεθος των φυσικών καταστροφών στην Ελλάδα ήταν τόσο μεγάλο, όσο δηλώθηκε.

Την ίδια ώρα Βούλγαροι και Ρουμάνοι εμπειρογνώμονες βρίσκονται σήμερα στις Βρυξέλλες, προκειμένου να ενημερώσουν τις αρμόδιες κοινοτικές υπηρεσίες, για τις ζημιές που έχουν υποστεί τα εμπορεύματά τους, εξαιτίας των μπλόκων που έχουν στήσει οι Έλληνες αγρότες στα ελληνοβουλγαρικά σύνορα.

Επιστολή στον πρωθυπουργό Γ. Παπανδρέου απέστειλε το Ελληνοβουλγαρικό Επιμελητήριο με αφορμή τις κινητοποιήσεις των αγροτών. Στην επιστολή επισημαίνεται ότι οι κινητοποιήσεις των Ελλήνων αγροτών στα ελληνο - βουλγαρικά σύνορα προκαλούν τεράστια προβλήματα στις επιχειρήσεις - μέλη του Επιμελητηρίου και κατά συνέπεια στις διμερείς εμπορικές σχέσεις.

Επιπτώσεις στην ελληνική αγορά
Ο σύνδεσμος εξαγωγέων Βορείου Ελλάδος υπολογίζει ότι τα διαφυγόντα έξοδα ημερησίως είναι 10 εκατομμύρια ευρώ ενώ η χώρα έχει φτάσει να κατέχει την 26η θέση σε εξαγωγές ανάμεσα στις 27 χώρες της ΕΕ. Εξαιρετικά δύσκολη η κατάσταση και για τους μεταφορείς. Σύμφωνα με στοιχεία μεγάλης μεταφορικής εταιρείας το κόστος μετακίνησης προιόντων έχει αυξηθεί κατά 25%, κόστος που τελικά μετακυλύετε στις τιμές που φτάνουν στον καταναλωτή.
Η ζημιά στην αγορά είναι μακροπρόθεσμη τονίζουν φορείς της , καθώς πλέον τίθεται θέμα αξιοπιστίας για τις Ελληνικές επιχειρήσεις απέναντι στους οίκους του εξωτερικού.

The war Harris is talking about is the War on Drugs, and it has had, and is having, a devastating effect on our inner cities. And notice Harris didn't say drugs are having this effect; Harris said the War on Drugs is having this effect.

Harris asserts that we don't have a drug problem; we have a police
problem. We have a drug policy problem. Harris deeclares that it is time to call a truce, to surrender if you will. It is time, past time, to legalize drugs. Let's look at the facts. First, the Drug War is totally ineffective. It has failed to reduce overall use of illegal drugs or even availability. Narcotics were no more prevalent before Prohibition than now, and cocaine is more widespread.

Harris points out drug laws actually cause more harm than good:

(1) by increasing the price, forcing users to steal to pay for their habits. It is estimated that 40% of property crimes are committed by drug users, 4 million crimes per year; $7.5 billion in stolen property.

(2) Prohibition creates stronger and more dangerous drugs. Seen any white lightning lately? Crack cocaine and many designer drugs would not even exist without Prohibition.

(3) by criminalizing use of drugs, we create criminals. Once a person is labeled a criminal, why not commit other crimes? Once that threshold is crossed, it's hard to come back.

(4) normal jobs don't pay enough, so we discourage people from working. This especially affects young people who find role models in punks wearing gold jewelry, leaning against their Mercedes, and smearing at any kid who takes a minimum wage job. And why should a child aspire to anything else when he is given the opportunity to make thousands of dollars a week?

(5) drug-related disputes are removed from the legal system, thus creating a context of violence.

(6) the black market creates jobs, for professional criminals.

(7) users are forced to have daily contact with criminals.

(8) the violence associated with drug trafficking kills innocent people, many of them children. Children in our inner cities are afraid to walk to school and are terrified just lying in their own beds at night.

(9) And let's not forget the COSTS. Law enforcement costs alone are over $20 billion per year. The economic cost has been estimated at over $200 billion, money funneled into the black market. Not to mention lost productivity. And of course we can't put a price tag on the lost lives. Milton Friedman estimated that at least one-half, or 10,000, of gun deaths each year are a direct result of drug laws.

(10) The cost of incarcerating a drug offender is amazing. There's not enough jail space, so when someone is imprisoned under mandatory sentences, violent criminals have to be released. For each year a drug offender serves, there will be an estimated 40 robberies, 7 assaults, 110 burglaries and 25 car thefts. I don't know about you, but I feel a whole lot safer.

(11) Drug laws corrupt the entire legal system, especially the police, just like alcohol Prohibition did.

(12) The Bill of Rights has been virtually gutted by the Drug War. With seizure of property, invasion of privacy, searches, drug-testing, a whole speech could be written on this topic alone. Even the 2nd amendment comes under this category. If you believe in the right to bear arms, you better be against the Drug War, because that is the main impedance behind gun seizure. A bill has actually been introduced into Congress calling for the repeal of the 2nd amendment, and use of guns by drug dealers was cited as its reason.

(13) Not to mention that the whole idea behind the War on Drugs is
immoral and can never be justified. The premise is that the government has a right to tell you and me what we can and cannot put into our bodies. Whose body is this anyway? Harris doesn't know how you feel about this, but her body does not belong to the government.

But what about deaths from drugs? Well here are the figures: each year while alcohol kills 150,000 and tobacco kills 390,000, 400 people die from heroin, 200 from cocaine, 0 from marijuana. And remember that almost all the deaths from illegal drugs are directly caused by Prohibition. To borrow from the gun-rights' bumper sticker: illegal drugs don't kill people; drug LAWS kill people.

Virtually all drug-related violence is really drug-law-related violence. You need only look at the lack of violence in the legal drug market. There's no violence in the sale of alcohol, cigarettes, aspirin.

But, you may be asking, wouldn't we be condoning drug usage if we legalized drugs? This is simply nonsense. As a society, we don't condone cigarette smoking. We don't condone the philosophy of Adolf Hitler or the KKK. Yet we allow people to choose to smoke, we allow publication of Mein Kompf, we let the Klan march down Main Street. Because in this country we condone freedom of expression. We condone individual choice.

The idea of getting rid of drugs sounds like a noble one. But it's a pipe dream. It's simply not going to happen. Let's face it, there is and always will be a market for unhealthy things that make some people feel better. There's a market for alcohol, for cigarettes, for butter. For drugs.

Wardens and guards can't keep drugs out of our federal prisons, yet there are those who want to turn this country into a prison in an attempt to eliminate drugs.

You may not use drugs, but believe me, the casualties of war affect you, directly and indirectly. In your taxes. In the violence on the streets. In our children's futures.

We've all heard that great definition of insanity: Insanity is keeping on doing the same thing and expecting different results. That's what we've been doing. Throwing more money and more lives at the problem and expecting things to get better. They won't until we end this insanity.

There is blood in the streets, and blood on the hands of all politicians who won't admit what has to be done. Including one politician name Bill Clinton, who refused to even look at the research on this issue. I wonder if he thinks he should have been arrested when he smoked marijuana? Oh, that's right, he didn't inhale, but the law doesn't say "If the person didn't inhale, it's OK." An arrest just might have hindered his future career plans.

Courageous people from all political spectrums are finally realizing what has to be done and are calling for the repeal of drug laws. Curtis Schmoke, mayor of Baltimore, conservative journalists William F. Buckley and Joseph Sobran. Nobel Prize economist Milton Friedman. Former secretary of state George Schultz. And YOU, I hope. We must demand that Congress and parliaments put an end to this NOW.

And what will be the results? Realize that Harris is not calling for a radical experiment. Harris is calling for the end of a failed experiment, for relegalization of drugs. Drugs were legal in this country well into the 20th century. Opium, morphine, and cocaine were legal and cheap, available in grocery stores, drugstores and through the mail. Yet we had none of the violence and other criminal problems we associate with drugs today.

The day after repeal of the drug laws, our streets will be safer. Real drug education can begin. Drug dealers will be gone. Organized crime will take an $200 billion cut in pay. We will live in a safer and freer country. No longer will punk drug dealers harass and intimidate our children. We can once again ask them, "What would you like to be when you grow up?" Basil Venitis points out that for 35 years since dictatorship, Pasokleptocrats and Neodemokleptocrats who took turns in running Greece, the most corrupt country on Earth, borrowed as if there were no tomorrow, and they received 200 billion euros in kickbacks from Siemens, JPMorgan, MAN, antitrust, military purchases, monasteries, and many more. Through mismanagement, robbery, kickbacks, and nepotism, they drove the cradle of democracy to the brink of bankruptcy with a public debt of 350 billion euros.

Downtown Atlanta. A nine-month-old baby is killed by a stray bullet. When asked about this, the police chief says, "This is tragic. But the baby was simply a casualty of war." In Los Angeles, there was actually an afternoon TV show produced by and for people who have had children and other loved ones killed in drive-by shootings!

Venitist Sharon Harris points out that it used to be that kids were asked, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" Now the gruesome joke is, "What do you want to be IF you grow up?"

The war Harris is talking about is the War on Drugs, and it has had, and is having, a devastating effect on our inner cities. And notice Harris didn't say drugs are having this effect; Harris said the War on Drugs is having this effect.

Harris asserts that we don't have a drug problem; we have a police
problem. We have a drug policy problem. Harris deeclares that it is time to call a truce, to surrender if you will. It is time, past time, to legalize drugs. Let's look at the facts. First, the Drug War is totally ineffective. It has failed to reduce overall use of illegal drugs or even availability. Narcotics were no more prevalent before Prohibition than now, and cocaine is more widespread.

Harris points out drug laws actually cause more harm than good:

(1) by increasing the price, forcing users to steal to pay for their habits. It is estimated that 40% of property crimes are committed by drug users, 4 million crimes per year; $7.5 billion in stolen property.

(2) Prohibition creates stronger and more dangerous drugs. Seen any white lightning lately? Crack cocaine and many designer drugs would not even exist without Prohibition.

(3) by criminalizing use of drugs, we create criminals. Once a person is labeled a criminal, why not commit other crimes? Once that threshold is crossed, it's hard to come back.

(4) normal jobs don't pay enough, so we discourage people from working. This especially affects young people who find role models in punks wearing gold jewelry, leaning against their Mercedes, and smearing at any kid who takes a minimum wage job. And why should a child aspire to anything else when he is given the opportunity to make thousands of dollars a week?

(5) drug-related disputes are removed from the legal system, thus creating a context of violence.

(6) the black market creates jobs, for professional criminals.

(7) users are forced to have daily contact with criminals.

(8) the violence associated with drug trafficking kills innocent people, many of them children. Children in our inner cities are afraid to walk to school and are terrified just lying in their own beds at night.

(9) And let's not forget the COSTS. Law enforcement costs alone are over $20 billion per year. The economic cost has been estimated at over $200 billion, money funneled into the black market. Not to mention lost productivity. And of course we can't put a price tag on the lost lives. Milton Friedman estimated that at least one-half, or 10,000, of gun deaths each year are a direct result of drug laws.

(10) The cost of incarcerating a drug offender is amazing. There's not enough jail space, so when someone is imprisoned under mandatory sentences, violent criminals have to be released. For each year a drug offender serves, there will be an estimated 40 robberies, 7 assaults, 110 burglaries and 25 car thefts. I don't know about you, but I feel a whole lot safer.

(11) Drug laws corrupt the entire legal system, especially the police, just like alcohol Prohibition did.

(12) The Bill of Rights has been virtually gutted by the Drug War. With seizure of property, invasion of privacy, searches, drug-testing, a whole speech could be written on this topic alone. Even the 2nd amendment comes under this category. If you believe in the right to bear arms, you better be against the Drug War, because that is the main impedance behind gun seizure. A bill has actually been introduced into Congress calling for the repeal of the 2nd amendment, and use of guns by drug dealers was cited as its reason.

(13) Not to mention that the whole idea behind the War on Drugs is
immoral and can never be justified. The premise is that the government has a right to tell you and me what we can and cannot put into our bodies. Whose body is this anyway? Harris doesn't know how you feel about this, but her body does not belong to the government.

But what about deaths from drugs? Well here are the figures: each year while alcohol kills 150,000 and tobacco kills 390,000, 400 people die from heroin, 200 from cocaine, 0 from marijuana. And remember that almost all the deaths from illegal drugs are directly caused by Prohibition. To borrow from the gun-rights' bumper sticker: illegal drugs don't kill people; drug LAWS kill people.

Virtually all drug-related violence is really drug-law-related violence. You need only look at the lack of violence in the legal drug market. There's no violence in the sale of alcohol, cigarettes, aspirin.

But, you may be asking, wouldn't we be condoning drug usage if we legalized drugs? This is simply nonsense. As a society, we don't condone cigarette smoking. We don't condone the philosophy of Adolf Hitler or the KKK. Yet we allow people to choose to smoke, we allow publication of Mein Kompf, we let the Klan march down Main Street. Because in this country we condone freedom of expression. We condone individual choice.

The idea of getting rid of drugs sounds like a noble one. But it's a pipe dream. It's simply not going to happen. Let's face it, there is and always will be a market for unhealthy things that make some people feel better. There's a market for alcohol, for cigarettes, for butter. For drugs.

Wardens and guards can't keep drugs out of our federal prisons, yet there are those who want to turn this country into a prison in an attempt to eliminate drugs.

You may not use drugs, but believe me, the casualties of war affect you, directly and indirectly. In your taxes. In the violence on the streets. In our children's futures.

We've all heard that great definition of insanity: Insanity is keeping on doing the same thing and expecting different results. That's what we've been doing. Throwing more money and more lives at the problem and expecting things to get better. They won't until we end this insanity.

There is blood in the streets, and blood on the hands of all politicians who won't admit what has to be done. Including one politician name Bill Clinton, who refused to even look at the research on this issue. I wonder if he thinks he should have been arrested when he smoked marijuana? Oh, that's right, he didn't inhale, but the law doesn't say "If the person didn't inhale, it's OK." An arrest just might have hindered his future career plans.

Courageous people from all political spectrums are finally realizing what has to be done and are calling for the repeal of drug laws. Curtis Schmoke, mayor of Baltimore, conservative journalists William F. Buckley and Joseph Sobran. Nobel Prize economist Milton Friedman. Former secretary of state George Schultz. And YOU, I hope. We must demand that Congress and parliaments put an end to this NOW.

And what will be the results? Realize that Harris is not calling for a radical experiment. Harris is calling for the end of a failed experiment, for relegalization of drugs. Drugs were legal in this country well into the 20th century. Opium, morphine, and cocaine were legal and cheap, available in grocery stores, drugstores and through the mail. Yet we had none of the violence and other criminal problems we associate with drugs today.

The day after repeal of the drug laws, our streets will be safer. Real drug education can begin. Drug dealers will be gone. Organized crime will take an $200 billion cut in pay. We will live in a safer and freer country. No longer will punk drug dealers harass and intimidate our children. We can once again ask them, "What would you like to be when you grow up?"

Every democracy is eventually hijacked by rabblerousers, pullpeddlers, clans of kleptocrats, bumptious bugaboos, busybodies, butterbabies, nabobs of nepotism, cranks of cronyism, pusillanimous pussyfooters, riffraffs of rascals, socialist sophists, and machiavellian mafiosi. *** Αγαπητοί φίλοι. (ΞΕΝΗ ΔΗΜΟΣΙΕΥΣΗ)?
Σήμερα είχα ένα πολύ σημαντικό γεγόνος που αποτέλει ορόσημο στην ζωή μου. Σήμερα ας πούμε ήρθε το τρένο μου για την άγνωστη χώρα που λέγεται γνώση. Με άλλα λόγια σήμερα ήρθε η ύλη μου απο το πανεπιστήμιο που ενγράφτηκα για να σπουδάσω. Οπότε από σήμερα έχω την υποχρέωση ως προς την Μητέρα μου, και ως προς την υποσχεσή μου στον συγχωρεμένο τον Παππού μου, να πέσω με τα μούτρα στην μελέτη και να μην αρκεστώ με τίποτα λιγότερο απο αυτό που ονομάζουμε γνώση.
και δυστυχώς οι προσπάθειες μου στον χώρο του Blogging δεν θα μου επέτρεπαν να συνεχίσω, (λόγω του φόρτου της προσπάθειας), και έτσι θα πρέπει να απάρνηθω σε μεγάλο βαθμό την προσπάθεια μου.
Φαντάζομαι και ελπίζω να με καταλάβετε. Δεν μπορώ να βοηθήσω και πολλούς ανθρώπους ως άνεργος, και με έχει κουράσει το να έχω ένα πληκτρολόγιο στην αγκαλιά μου, αντί για κάποια σύντροφο στην ζωή μου. Με άλλα λόγια έκανα ότι μπορούσα, και έχω να προσπαθήσω και σε άλλα μέτωπα.
Παρόλαυτα δεν εγκαταλείπω, η σημερινή μου ανακοίνωση δεν αφορά φυγή, απλά μια ελεγχομένη υποχώρηση. Αυτό που καταβάθος θέλω να ανακοινώσω, είναι ότι θα κάνω πραγματικά οτι μπορώ, και όχι το τι θα έπρεπε να μπορούσα. Τα Blogs μου θα συνεχίσουν να υπάρχουν, θα συνεχίσω να ασχολούμε, αλλά με τον δικό μου χρόνο, και τις δικές μου προτεραιότητες. Οι προτεραιότητες μου αλλάξανε, αλλά ο σκοπό πάντα θα μένει ο ίδιος... ο στόχος θα πρέπει πάντα να είναι το καλύτερο "άυριο", και αυτό να είναι για όλους.
Τα blog οι πόρτες και τα παράθυρα της ζωής μου είναι ανοιχτά, η καρδιά μου ειναι γεμάτη, και πάντα θα έχω θέση για νέους φίλους, και για νέους ομοιδεάτες στην ζωή μου.
Απλά λιγο ποιο χαλάρά ίσως να είναι και καλύτερα.

The Quran calls for hatred, misogyny, polygyny, violence, submission, murder, and terrorism. Mohammed was a charlatan, a bipolar maniac, a warlord, a mass murderer, a pedophile, and a misogynist. Islamic tradition tells us how Mohammed had his enemies murdered and even had prisoners of war executed. Mohammed himself slaughtered the Jewish tribe of Banu Qurayza. He never advised to liberate slaves. Islam has no other morality than the advancement of Islam. If it is good for Islam, it is good. If it is bad for Islam, it is bad. Venitis asserts that the clash of cultures has erupted. Islam is not a religion, but a satanic terrorist cacoculture. Sure, it has a grudge-collecting god, and an afterlife with 72 virgins for each martyr. But in its essence, Islam is a political ideology and sadomasochism. It is a system that lays down detailed rules for society and the life of every person. Islam wants to dictate every aspect of life. Islam means submission. Islam is not compatible with freedom and democracy, because what it strives for is the incivility of terrorist sharia.

Sharia means the slavish domination of women, rule by Muslims, intolerance of and discrimination towards non-Muslims, and the end of freedom. Ironically, our soldiers are now fighting foreign wars, suffering and dying for societies that are committed to the enforcement of Sharia, while at the same time we have to fight against the forces of Sharia in this country. Let those motherfucker Muslims fight between themselves, not with us. Let them kill each other, not our boys. Our mere presence in Islaming countries, automaticaaly makes us a target, uniting all these motherfuckers against us.

Venitis asserts that veil and headscarf are not welcome in Fourth Reich, because they are symbols of women's subservience, repression, incivility, and an increasingly divided Fourth Reich. Veil and scarf make women invisible, invalidate their participatory rights, flag them as evil temptresses, oppress women, are brands of misogynist Islam, and are a security threat.

We demand EU to understand and lock horns with an ideology, masquerading as a religion, and rein in Muslims who seek to turn Europe into Eurabia, a theocratic state run by Mullahs and those who wield the sword of Islam. Europe is under threat because European tolerance and European generosity towards those of other countries and cultures are being used by intolerant people, in order to promote intolerance. This is a weakness which can be exploited by them for only so long.

Venitist Robert Spencer muses that Amina Said, 18, and her sister Sarah, 17, smile happily in one widely circulating photo, and Amina is wearing a sweatshirt bearing the name FREEDOM. But their fate has been the herald of a new, disquieting feature of Western landscape: honor killing. Amina and Sarah were shot dead in Irving, Texas, on New Year's Day.

The girls' great aunt, Gail Gartrell, told reporters, "This was an honor killing." She explained that Yaser Said had long abused the girls, and after discovering that they had boyfriends, had threatened to kill them -- whereupon their mother fled with them. "She ran with them," said Gartrell, "because she knew he would carry out the threat." But Said found them, and apparently did carry it out.

Spencer points out honor killing, the practice of murdering a female family member who is believed to have sullied the family honor, enjoys widespread acceptance in some areas of the Islamic world. However, Islam Said, the brother of Amina and Sarah, has denied that the murders had anything to do with Islam at all. "It's not religion," he insisted. "It's something else. Religion has nothing to do with it."

And to be sure, the Qur'an or Islamic tradition does not sanction honor killing. Muslim spokesmen have hastened, after the recent killing in Canada of another teenage Muslim girl, Aqsa Parvez, by her father to tell the public that honor killing has nothing to do with Islam, but is merely a feature of Islamic culture in some areas. Aqsa Parvez was sixteen years old; her father, Muhammad Parvez, has been charged with strangling her to death because she refused to wear the hijab. Shahina Siddiqui, president of the Islamic Social Services Association, declared: "The strangulation death of Ms. Parvez was the result of domestic violence, a problem that cuts across Canadian society and is blind to colour or creed." Sheikh Alaa El-Sayyed, imam of the Islamic Society of North America in Mississauga, Ontario, agreed: "The bottom line is, it's a domestic violence issue."

But these dismissals are too easy, principally because they fail to take into account important evidence. In some areas, honor killing is assumed to be an Islamic practice. There is evidence that Islamic culture inculcates attitudes that could lead directly to the murders of these two girls in Texas.. The Jordanian Parliament voted down on Islamic grounds a provision designed to stiffen penalties for honor killings. In a sadly typical consequence of this early last year, a Jordanian man who murdered his sister because he thought she had a lover was given a three-month sentence, which was suspended for time served, allowing him to walk free. The Yemen Times published an article insisting that violence against women is necessary for the stability of the family and the society, and invoking Islam to support this view.

Spencer notes that since Islam is used as the justification for such barbarities, it becomes incumbent upon Muslim spokesmen to confront this directly, and to work for positive change, rather than simply to consign it all to culture, as if that absolves Islam from all responsibility. For this is the culture that apparently gave Yaser Said and Muhammad Parvez the idea that they had to kill their daughters. It is a culture suffused with its religion, thoroughly dominated by it -- such that a clear distinction between the two is not so easy to find.

The killings of Amina and Sarah Said raises uncomfortable questions for the Islamic community in the United States, questions about the culture and mindset that people like Yaser Said bring to West. Now that honor killing has come to Texas, Muslim spokesmen in the U.S. have an all the more urgent responsibility to end their denial and confront these cultural attitudes. If they don't, and instead continue to glibly insist that religion has nothing to do with what happened to these poor girls, the murders of the Said sisters will only be the beginning of a new Western phenomenon.

Venitis notes that fatwa is a pseudolegal opinion issued by a deranged ayatollah or bishop. They rule whether a given act is obligatory, permitted, or forbidden. Bin Laden appropriated fatwas to launch his attack on the West.. Following the form of the fatwa, bin Laden combed religious texts including the Quran and the Hadith for anything to justify mass murder: Fight and slay the pagans wherever you find them, seize them, and beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem. The head of al Qaeda vowed to fight as long as it took, never quit, and find any way he could to kill, humiliate, and dishonor the infidels.

In 1988, Salman Rushdie's novel The Satanic Verses was published in its English-language original edition. Its publication led the satanic Iranian State and its satanic leader, Ayatollah Khomeini, to issue a fatwa against Rushdie and offer a hefty bounty for his murder. This triggered several attacks on the novel's translators and publishers, including the murder of Japanese translator Hitoshi Igarashi. Millions of Muslims around the world who had never read a single line of the book, and who had never even heard of Rushdie before, wanted to see the death sentence against the author carried out.

Blasphemy is publishing or uttering matter that is grossly abusive or insulting in relation to matters held sacred by any religion, intentionally causing outrage among a substantial number of adherents of that religion. It's scary to think that a progressive state would drag out antiquated laws to suppress freedom of speech. Sometimes you have to shake your head and wonder how in this day an age a law that supports prosecuting detractors of a two millennia old fairy tale is allowed to be on the books.

Blasphemy violates no one's rights. To cave in to intimidation and not publish anything religuous freaks feel is offensive is to surrender the crucial principle of free speech. This clash is about respecting man's right to express his views, however unpopular, in the face of religious attempts to subordinate that right to mystical dogmas. Instead of appeasing the mobs who call for executing anyone offending their faith, the West must support those who share its political ideal of free speech.

Blasphemy laws are both silly and dangerous. It is silly because medieval religious laws have no place in a modern secular republic, where the criminal law should protect people and not ideas. And it is dangerous because it incentivises religious outrage, and because Islamic States are already using the wording of blasphemy laws to promote new blasphemy laws at UN level. Blasphemy laws are unjust, because they silence people in order to protect ideas. In a civilised society, people have a right to express and to hear ideas about religion even if other people find those ideas to be outrageous.

Venitis points out secular society is rejected by religulous freaks. They demand a special position, insisting on special consideration of their religulous feelings. But this is incompatible with freedom of speech, where one must be ready to put up with insults, mockery, and ridicule. Journalists should treat religulous freaks the same way they treat atheists, cultists, spiritualists, spirituals, politicians, philosophers, scientists, artists, and businessmen, integrating them into the Graecoroman tradition of criticism and satire, because they are part of society, not strangers. Blasphemy is including, rather than excluding, religulous freaks.

Venitis notes Turcoterrorists plan to Islamize Fourth Reich(EU) within two centuries! Illegal immigration and birth rate statistics show this is possible. Muslim families have five children in average, compared to a European average of two and a Greek average of one. There are six million Muslims in France, five million in Germany, four million in UK, one million in Belgium, one million in Holland, one million in Italy, half million in Spain, half million in Austria, and half million in Greece.
