***Συνάντηση Παπανδρέου - Νετανιάχου τη Δευτέρα

Στο πλαίσιο επίσημης επίσκεψης του πρωθυπουργού του Ισραήλ στην Ελλάδα, κατόπιν προσκλήσεως του Έλληνα πρωθυπουργού, ο Γιώργος Παπανδρέου θα συναντηθεί τη Δευτέρα στο Μέγαρο Μαξίμου, με τον Μπενιαμίν Νετανιάχου.

Συνάντηση Παπανδρέου - Νετανιάχου τη Δευτέρα

Ο πρωθυπουργός Γιώργος Παπανδρέου θα συναντηθεί τη Δευτέρα (16.8) στο Μέγαρο Μαξίμου, με τον πρωθυπουργό του Ισραήλ Μπενιαμίν Νετανιάχου.

Η συνάντηση πραγματοποιείται στο πλαίσιο επίσημης επίσκεψης του πρωθυπουργού του Ισραήλ στην Ελλάδα, κατόπιν προσκλήσεως του Έλληνα πρωθυπουργού, Γιώργου Παπανδρέου.

Εν τω μεταξύ, ο Γιώργος Παπανδρέου εξέφρασε τη λύπη του για την απώλεια ανθρώπινων ζωών από τις καταστροφικές πυρκαγιές που πλήττουν τη χώρα του και την αλληλεγγύη και την συμπαράσταση του ελληνικού λαού προς τον Ρωσικό λαό αυτές τις δύσκολες ώρες, στον Ρώσο ομόλογό του Βλαντιμίρ Πούτιν, σε τηλεφωνική επικοινωνία που είχαν.

Σύμφωνα με ανακοίνωση από το γραφείο του Έλληνα πρωθυπουργού, ο Β. Πούτιν ευχαρίστησε ιδιαίτερα τον κ. Παπανδρέου, ο οποίος, «παρά τις ιδιαιτερότητες και τις δυσκολίες αυτής της περιόδου λόγω των καιρικών συνθηκών, έθεσε στη διάθεση της Ρωσικής κυβέρνησης, μια ειδικά εκπαιδευμένη και εξοπλισμένη Ομάδα ΕΜΑΚ, τονίζοντας ότι, η ελληνική κυβέρνηση κατανοεί την τραγική κατάσταση που καλούνται να αντιμετωπίσουν στη Ρωσία, αλλά και εκφράζει έμπρακτα την ευγνωμοσύνη της για την συμπαράσταση του ρωσικού λαού σε παρόμοιες καταστάσεις για την Ελλάδα».

Τέλος, οι δύο πρωθυπουργοί αντάλλαξαν απόψεις για θέματα διμερούς και διεθνούς ενδιαφέροντος.-

~**Αισιοδοξία Παπανδρέου για την Οικονομία

Στη συνέντευξή του με τίτλο «Υπάρχει πραγματικός κίνδυνος λόγω της παγκόσμιας λιτότητας» ο κ. Παπανδρέου αναφέρει ότι το χρέος της Ελλάδας είναι αποτέλεσμα κακοδιαχείρισης πολλών ετών, με αλόγιστες κυβερνητικές σπατάλες.

Αισιοδοξία Παπανδρέου για την Οικονομία

Αισιόδοξος για την πορεία της οικονομίας εμφανίζεται ο πρωθυπουργός σε συνέντευξή του σε αμερικανική εφημερίδα και υπογραμμίζει ότι στόχος της κυβέρνησης είναι η επιστροφή στις αγορές το 2011.

Ο κ. Παπανδρέου τάσσεται υπέρ του τέταρτου δρόμου για τον σοσιαλισμό, τονίζοντας ότι ο τρίτος δρόμος συμβιβασμού με τον καπιταλισμό απέτυχε γιατί αποδείχθηκε εσφαλμένη η πίστη στην ικανότητα της αγοράς να αυτορυθμίζεται.

Στην συνέντευξή του με τίτλο «Υπάρχει πραγματικός κίνδυνος λόγω της παγκόσμιας λιτότητας» ο κ. Παπανδρέου αναφέρει ότι το χρέος της Ελλάδας είναι αποτέλεσμα κακοδιαχείρισης πολλών ετών, με αλόγιστες κυβερνητικές σπατάλες και αναποτελεσματικό δημόσιο τομέα.

«Οι περικοπές από μόνες τους δεν είναι αρκετές για να θωρακίσουμε την παγκόσμια οικονομία. Χρειαζόμαστε μέτρα για να τονωθεί ο ρυθμός ανάπτυξης και να δημιουργήσουμε θέσεις εργασίας», αναφέρει ο Γιώργος Παπανδρέου.

Ο πρωθυπουργός πρόσθεσε ότι η Ελλάδα στηρίζει την περαιτέρω ευρωπαϊκή ενότητα, σημειώνοντας ότι στόχος της κυβέρνησης πρέπει να είναι ένα έντιμο, αποτελεσματικό σύστημα οικονομικής διακυβέρνησης, το οποίο θα εξισορροπεί την ανάγκη για εθνική κυριαρχία με τις σύνθετες απαιτήσεις της νομισματικής ένωσης σε μία παγκοσμιοποιημένη οικονομία.

Στη Διεθνή Έκθεση Θεσσαλονίκης θα παρουσιάσει ο πρωθυπουργός το πακέτο της ανάπτυξης της οικονομίας, της βελτίωσης της παραγωγικότητας και της ανταγωνιστικότητας αλλά και την κοινωνική διάσταση του κοινωνικού προγράμματος, όπως δήλωσε στον ΑΝΤ1 η υπουργός Αγροτικής Ανάπτυξης Κατερίνα Μπατζελή.-

Σημείωμα του Σκηνοθέτη Λεωνίδας ΛοϊζίδηςΉταν πριν από τρία χρόνια, όταν το όραμά μου για το παγκόσμιο ταξίδι του αρχέγονου ελληνικού πολιτισμού έπαιρνε σάρκα και οστά. Πρώτος σταθμός, οι «Βάκχες» του Ευριπίδη. Η επιτυχία της παράστασης ώθησε τον κινητήρα της μηχανής μας προς τον δεύτερο σταθμό, την επόμενη χρονιά, με τις «Τρωάδες» επίσης του Ευριπίδη. Όλα πήγαν καλά. Και κάθε φορά, βγαίναμε πιο δυνατοί από αυτό το μεγαλεπήβολο εγχείρημα. Έτσι, φέτος, ξαναμπήκαμε στο πολιτιστικό μας τρένο και ήρθαμε με την «Ορέστεια» του Αισχύλου. Μια τριλογία με απίστευτα μηνύματα, και με τους πιο τραγικούς μονολόγους που έχουν γραφτεί ποτέ. Το εγχείρημα δεν ήταν απλό, καθώς έπρεπε να συμπτύξουμε τρία έργα (Αγαμέμνων, Χοηφόροι, Ευμενίδες) στα επιτρεπτά χρονικά περιθώρια, χωρίς όμως να αδικήσουμε στο παραμικρό τον τραγωδό. Η ομάδα μας έβαλε τα δυνατά της, με ατελείωτες πρόβες και με πολύ κέφι, ώστε το αποτέλεσμα να είναι αυτό που θα ήθελε και ο ίδιος ο Αισχύλος εάν ζούσε σήμερα και ήταν ανάμεσά σας, στις θέσεις των θεατών.Με απόλυτο σεβασμό στο αρχαίο κείμενο, αφήσαμε να βγουν ολοκάθαρα τα όσα ήθελε εκείνος να μεταδώσει: Το έγκλημα ποτέ δεν μένει ατιμώρητο, ωστόσο η Δικαιοσύνη, ανώτερη ακόμη και από τους ίδιους τους θεούς, είναι εκείνη που στο τέλος θα αποφασίσει να συγχωρήσει. Και συγχωρεί. Ένα από τα πιο τραγικά σημεία του έργου είναι ο μονόλογος της Κασσάνδρας, ένας από τους πιο δυνατούς μονολόγους της παγκόσμιας βιβλιογραφίας. Άλλα συγκλονιστικά σημεία της πένας του αρχαίου δραματουργού είναι οι απανωτές δολοφονίες από αγαπημένα πρόσωπα, αλλά το πλέον τραγικό είναι οι άσπλαχνες και κακάσχημες Ερινύες. Τρομακτικές τόσο, που όταν ο Αισχύλος παρουσίασε το έργο του γυναίκες απέβαλαν από τον τρόμο. Και τέλος έρχονται οι Ευμενίδες, η Δικαιοσύνη, για να μπορέσει η ζωή να συνεχιστεί χωρίς αίμα, με ειρήνη και αγάπη στις επόμενες γενιές.Από σκηνοθετική ματιά, παρέμεινα πιστός στον τρόπο με τον οποίο οι αρχαίοι Έλληνες παρουσίαζαν τις τραγωδίες τους. Και αυτό επειδή, αν και οι καιροί αλλάζουν στο διάστημα των δυόμισι χιλιάδων χρόνων που μεσολάβησαν, οι ανθρώπινες αξίες παραμένουν ίδιες. Εξάλλου, αν θέλουμε να καταλάβουμε το μέλλον, πρέπει να μελετήσουμε το παρελθόν. Unless Congress acts soon, younger workers can look forward to paying full Social Security taxes throughout their careers only to receive 78 percent or less of the benefits that have been promised to them. In addition, younger workers will have to pay to re-fund the surpluses that have been borrowed from the Social Security trust fund, an expense that will total almost $6 trillion by the time the trust fund is exhausted in 2037. Accounts of any size need to grow for about 20 to 25 years before they are large enough to pay much in the way of retirement benefits. Benefit changes are politically feasible only if current retirees and those close to retirement are not affected, which means that it would be at least 10 years before changes take effect. While tax increases would immediately pump money into Social Security, that Band-Aid would just delay the start of real long-term reform and make it much easier for Congress to continue taking the easy way out. We need to wean people off the state pension game. It's a giant Ponzi scheme that sooner or later will become bankrupt. There used to be five working age people supporting each pension; now there are two, and in the future that number will shrink. It cannot go on. The issue of retirement in Europe has become a tiring debate. Governments know their pension funds will not last much longer, yet no country's population seems willing to give up their right to retire before 70. The European Commission has ambitiously suggested that the general retirement age in Europe be gradually raised to 70 by the year 2060. It also calls for no more than a third of adults to be in retirement in the future.Venitis notes that in Greece, the most corrupt on Earth, you could easily retire at forty.
